This story has significance for readers across Kenya and beyond.
- Government and civil society must collaborate to enhance educational opportunities for all students
- Community support and funding are vital for students facing financial challenges in education
- Lizah Foundation International promotes mentorship and partnership for quality education access
The government and civil society organisations have been urged to strengthen their collaboration to improve the learning environment and ensure that every student has an opportunity to pursue and succeed in education.
Education stakeholders say greater community support for government initiatives, particularly through funding and supporting students who are determined to continue with their studies but face financial challenges, can play a significant role in building a well-educated and skilled generation.
Such efforts, they note, will contribute to the country’s social and economic development.
The call was made by officials from Lizah Foundation International during a visit to New Creation Children’s Home. The foundation’s Director-General, Elizabeth Mutuku, provided educational support to children at the centre and encouraged them to make positive and informed decisions that will help them build successful futures.
"If we work together as a community to educate these children, our future as a nation will be much brighter. We also urge the government to increase funding for the education sector because education is the foundation of a nation. When every child gets an education, the nation will grow much stronger, " said Elizabeth
Lizah Foundation International continues to support students through mentorship and guidance, assist vulnerable families, and promote community awareness on key social and environmental issues, including climate change.
The stakeholders emphasised that a strong partnership between the government, civil society organisations, donors and communities is essential to ensuring that every child, regardless of their economic background, has access to quality education and the opportunity to realise their full potential.
