Weather update: Kenya Met warns of dry conditions in most parts this week

Nairobi - Kenya Meteorological Department has warned that most parts of the country will be generally dry over the next seven days.
However, in the weather forecast covering Tuesday, August 11 to Monday, August 17, some counties, including Bungoma, Trans Nzoia, Nakuru, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Kericho, Nyandarua and Nyeri may receive rainfall.
Intermittent cool and cloudy conditions are expected in some parts of Embu, Kiambu, Kirinyaga, Laikipia, Meru, Murang'a, Nairobi, Nyandarua, Nyeri, Tharaka-Nithi, Nakuru, Machakos, Kajiado, Taita Taveta, Marsabit and Wajir counties.
Maximum average temperatures of more than 30°C are expected in much of Kilifi, Tana River, Lamu, Garissa, Wajir, Isiolo, Marsabit, Turkana, Bungoma, Busia and Kakamega counties.
Minimum) average temperatures are expected to be less than 10°C in some parts of Meru, Tharaka Nithi, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Nyeri, Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nakuru, Narok, Kajiado, Trans Nzoia and Taita Taveta counties

1. Morning showers may occur in a few parts of Kwale, Mombasa and Kilifi counties.
2. Intermittent morning cloudiness may occur in a few parts of Embu, Kiambu, Kirinyaga, Laikipia, Meru, Murang'a, Nairobi, Nyandarua, Nyeri, Tharaka-Nithi, Nakuru, Machakos, Kajiado, Taita Taveta, Marsabit and Wajir counties.

Sunny intervals are expected in the mornings in most parts of Baringo, Bomet, Bungoma, Busia, Elgeyo Marakwet, Garissa, Homa Bay, Isiolo, Kakamega, Kericho, Kisii, Kisumu, Kitui, Kwale, Lamu, Makueni, Mandera, Migori, Nandi, Narok, Nyamira, Samburu, Siaya, Tana River, Trans Nzoia, Turkana, Uasin Gishu, Vihiga and West Pokot counties.
4. Afternoon showers and thunderstorms are likely to occur in a few parts of Bungoma, Trans Nzoia, Uasin Gishu, Busia, Kakamega, Nandi, Kericho, Nakuru, Narok, Elgeyo/Marakwet, West Pokot, Baringo and Samburu counties.
