A throwback video of Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale publicly listing his wives and children has gone viral on TikTok after the legislator announced the sudden death of his third wife, Gloria Khalwale, on 15 August 2026.
In the clip, filmed at what appears to be a press event with onlookers gathered in the background, Khalwale calmly runs through each marriage and the children that came with it, a candid moment that has taken on fresh significance following the tragedy.
Boni Khalwale names his four wives
The senator begins with his first wife, Adelaide Khalwale, whom he describes as the mother of his first three children.
He revealed that Adelaide passed away years ago, and together with his second wife, Josephine Khalwale, they had three children.
Gloria Khalwale, his third wife, was the mother of eight children. The veteran politician shared that she collapsed and died after suffering a heart attack.
Diana Khalwale, his fourth wife, is the mother of three children who are relatively young and still in school, bringing his total to 17 children across four marriages.
Throughout the video, Khalwale is emphatic on one point: every child is unambiguously his.
"They are all my copyright. They have never had their paternity in doubt," he says of each set of children, repeating the phrase for each wife in a manner that makes clear he anticipated scepticism.
Khalwale has never been secretive about his family arrangements, and the footage reinforces that reputation.
He has always had the spotlight each time national exam results are being announced, as his kids have been taking centre stage.
