A Kenyan pastor known as Pastor T has gone viral after candidly sharing the personal boundaries he has put in place to protect his marriage, his ministry, and his reputation as a man of faith.
In a clip shared on TikTok, Pastor T sat down with Reverend Kathy Kiuna and walked through four deliberate habits he lives by, offering a level of honesty that struck a chord with many viewers online.
Pastor T's rules for accountability
The first habit he discussed goes back to his single days, when he chose to live with his sister rather than alone, admitting openly that he could not trust himself with unchecked freedom.
He recalled how, just days before his wedding, his sister pulled him aside to warn him that being seen outside late at night with a woman who was not yet his wife could damage his credibility as a pastor, regardless of the innocent reason behind it.
When it comes to his pastoral team, he deliberately works almost exclusively with men and does not personally mentor women.
Instead, he hands female congregants over to a group of mature women he has assembled for that purpose, acknowledging this has sometimes made people feel overlooked.
He also keeps a personal driver who holds him accountable, alongside a spiritual father and his wife, all of whom he describes as a close circle of people who keep his life transparent and answerable.
His fourth boundary involves his phones and social media. Pastor T revealed he keeps a private number that very few people have access to, while his public line stays in the office and is managed by someone else.
His personal device has no social media apps installed, which means any direct messages sent to his accounts never actually reach him.
The moment that made the boundaries clear
Perhaps the most striking moment in the interview came when Pastor T described a woman who walked into his office seeking advice on conjugal rights because her husband had been away in Qatar for six months. His wife was nearly nine months pregnant at the time.
"I'm like, because why are you bringing this matter to me?" he said, visibly uncomfortable with the recollection, before adding that despite his efforts to redirect such conversations to other team members, some people simply insist on seeing him personally.
