Kenya Power lists areas to be affected by 8-hour blackout on Sunday, August 23
Kenya Power has announced planned power interruptions in several parts of the country on Sunday, August 23, 2026, with some areas set to remain without electricity for up to eight hours.
The scheduled maintenance will affect parts of Nairobi, Kajiado, Uasin Gishu, Laikipia, Nyeri and Kilifi counties. The outages will take place at different times depending on the area, with some interruptions starting as early as 8.00 a.m.
Nairobi County
In Nairobi County, areas around Eastleigh will experience an outage from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. The affected areas include Kiambiu, Eastleigh Sec 3, Eldoret Road, 19th and 18th Street, Zawadi Primay School, East Mart, Sec 3 Police Post and adjacent customers. The whole of South 1 and the whole of South 2 in New Industrial will also be affected during the same period.
The listed areas include KCB Likoni Road, House of Maji, Crown Berger, KIE, Mareba Ltd, Choka Supplies, Sana Industries, Clesoi Road, Acme, Smith Kline Bicham, part of Likoni Road, Lunga Lunga Road, Whole Range Road, MVI, Patco, Nairobi Timber and Jojo Plastics.
On Saturday, August 22, 2026, a power outage affected parts of Mombasa Road.
Kajiado County
In Kajiado County, the planned interruption will affect Kitengela from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. The affected areas include Whole of Accacia, Kimalat Stage 3, Maasai Flowers, Enkacity Resort, Kwa Mama Ngina, Exotic Penina, Enkasity Pri, CSI Ministry, Madaguda, Flamingo Tiles, Maasai Ostrich Farm, Sigma Farm, Danka Plaza, Global Village, Royal Finesse, Molo Line, Lake Oil, Marvel Green, Evergreen, Succos Hospital, Kajiado East Technical, Archem, Antiloq, Backbone, Surge Energy, Creative, World Serve, Eden Park, Oloyonde, Tophon, Zeneith Engineering, Imara Steel, Kenturiun and Jumbo Tank, among other adjacent customers.
Uasin Gishu County
Parts of Uasin Gishu County will experience an interruption at Kipkeino School from 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. The affected areas include Kipkeino School, St. Jacobs School, Kaptich and adjacent customers.
Laikipia County

The affected areas cover several estates, towns, institutions, farms, hotels and trading centres listed under the three scheduled maintenance areas.
Kilifi County
In Kilifi County, Ganze and Palakumi will be affected from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. The listed areas include Gatize, Magogoni, Ganze Water, Dungicha, Palakumi, Petanguo and adjacent customers.
