- Karen Nyamu's private chats were leaked after a woman sent her a photo of Samidoh with his wife, Edday Nderitu
- Nyamu admitted in the leaked messages that she had met someone new, but said it was not something she initially wanted to disclose
- The senator directed her critic to listen to a song called 'Toxic Love' on YouTube, insisting her past with Samidoh no longer defines her
Karen Nyamu's private messages are doing the rounds on Facebook after a woman who identifies herself as Bibi ya Chieff leaked a screenshotted exchange that began when she sent the nominated senator a photo of Mugithi singer Samidoh alongside his wife, Edday Nderitu.
The conversation quickly escalated, with Nyamu hitting back at her critic before dropping a rather candid admission about her current romantic life.
Has Nyamu found love again?
In the leaked chats, Nyamu did not shy away from addressing her past with Samidoh, but she was equally quick to make clear that she has turned a new page.
"Truth is, I met someone, and that's not what I didn't want to say. But he knows it and he's sung about it," she wrote, adding a laughing emoji.
She also pushed back against what she described as attempts to keep her history with the musician alive long after it ended.
"Ingia YouTube uskize wimbo inaitwa toxic love bila haraka alafu uwache ku force my past to be relevant over 2 years later," she wrote in the exchange, directing her critic to a song titled Toxic Love by her ex.
The woman on the other end of the conversation accused Nyamu of hypocrisy, pointing out that she had appeared on a podcast discussing how Samidoh ghosted her, yet was now claiming to have fully moved on.
"Such a bold statement coming from someone who went to a podcast 2 years later, balancing tears, explaining to us she got ghosted," she wrote.
Nyamu's complicated history with Samidoh
Nyamu and Samidoh's relationship became public knowledge around 2021, though the two had been involved since around 2019.
The situation drew enormous public interest because Samidoh was already married to Edday, and Nyamu openly defended their arrangement by citing Kenya's recognition of polygamy.
The pair share two children together, and their relationship was marked by several very public flashpoints, including a widely reported altercation in Dubai.
Nyamu later announced she had ended things with the singer, framing it as a decision she made on her own terms.
Samidoh and Edday have since reconciled, and photos of the couple together in the US recently circulated online; it was one such image that apparently prompted the woman to send Nyamu the screenshot that sparked this latest exchange.
In her final message in the leaked thread, Nyamu appeared unbothered.
"You stick to a cheater and attack his exes forever," she wrote, insisting that both she and Samidoh have each moved on and are aware of each other's current partners.
