“Shaped trims displease God”: Prophet claims men who shave won't see heaven
This story has significance for readers across Kenya and beyond.
- Prophet Francis Kofi Annan, who claims he died and was resurrected, made a striking declaration about men's personal care habits and salvation
- The prophet insisted men have only two spiritually acceptable options when it comes to their hair, warning that shaped trims displease God
- Prophet Annan said his warnings stem from what he personally witnessed during a visit to what he describes as the land of the dead
A self-proclaimed prophet who says he returned from death has issued a stern warning to men across Africa, claiming that something as routine as shaping a hairline or styling a beard could cost them their place in heaven.
Prophet Francis Kofi Annan made the declaration in a video that has since sparked widespread debate online, telling his audience that God holds a deep hatred for men who shape or style their facial and head hair after trimming.
What the Prophet Says God Forbids
According to Prophet Annan, men who want to be right with God have just two choices when it comes to their hair: shave it all off completely, or leave it exactly as it grows naturally. Any middle ground, he insists, is spiritually dangerous.
"Any man who shapes his hairline, moustache, or beard after trimming will not make it to heaven. As a man, you should either shave all your hair or leave it in its natural shape," he said.
He was careful to draw a distinction between trimming and styling. Cutting or reducing the hair is not necessarily the problem, he explained, but deliberately shaping or lining it up afterwards crosses what he describes as a serious spiritual boundary.
"If you trim your beard, you should not shape it because these are some of the things that can take you to hell. These are some of the things that I saw when I visited the land of the dead," he added.
The Near-Death Vision Behind the Warning
Central to Prophet Annan's authority in making such claims is his personal testimony of dying and being resurrected.
He presents this experience as having granted him direct access to knowledge of the spiritual realm that ordinary people do not possess.
He said his visit to what he calls the land of the dead revealed specific behaviours that prevent souls from reaching heaven, and that shaped hairlines and styled beards were among them.
His argument is that society's normalization of such hygiene has blinded many people to their supposed spiritual consequences.
