Video: Mofarm's son fires back at claims he stole Kaluma Boy's TV
This story has significance for readers across Kenya and beyond.
- Mofarm JM's son went public with fresh accusations against Kaluma Boy, the teenage internet sensation at the centre of a heated public dispute
- The allegations touched on a stolen TV, ongoing financial support, and claims that Kaluma was scammed
- The new remarks add yet another twist to the Kaluma saga involving Mofarm and Bishop Ben Kiengei
The controversy surrounding internet sensation Kaluma Boy has taken a sharp new turn, with a man who claims to be the son of businessman Mofarm JM going public to challenge the teenager's version of events.
The dispute has gripped social media for weeks, centring on money raised by well-wishers to support Kaluma's family, the construction of their home in Chaka, Nyeri County, and Kaluma's period of residence at a property linked to Mofarm in Utawala.
What did MoFarm's son say about the allegations?
In remarks shared on social media, Mofarm's son directed his frustration at those defending the teenager, insisting his father had gone above and beyond in supporting Kaluma.
"You guys are defending this boy, and despite all the money my father is spending on him, he is still very ungrateful," he said.
He went further, alleging that Kaluma had regularly called Mofarm whenever he needed financial help, and that the businessman had willingly continued offering that support even as tensions between the two parties grew publicly.
The man also offered his own account of the TV incident, which Kaluma had claimed was stolen during his stay at the Utawala property and later returned.
According to Mofarm's son, the teenager was well aware of what had actually taken place but was choosing to misrepresent the facts.
"That story about the TV, he knows exactly what happened. Ask him why he does not want to tell the truth about what exactly happened," he said.
He claimed the entire fallout had been triggered by Kaluma being asked to vacate the property, which left the teenager uncertain about his next steps.
"This whole thing started after he was told to go back home, and he was now left wondering where he would go next, what his next move would be. He started to make plans to allege that he was scammed," he added.
It should be noted that neither the man's identity as Mofarm's son nor the claims themselves have been independently verified.
Why is Kaluma Boy trending?
The broader dispute has drawn in several prominent figures. Kaluma previously pushed back on claims that Kenyans had collectively raised KSh 17 million for his family, putting the actual figure at around KSh 5.4 million.
Bishop Ben Kiengei, also embroiled in the saga, has denied personally handling the donations.
He stated that KSh 2.5 million collected during a Jesus Compassion Ministry Thanksgiving service went directly into the family's bank account, with a further KSh 800,000 in cash handed to the family.
Mofarm, who oversaw the construction of the family's Chaka home, has previously produced documents relating to the land purchase, though the house itself has become yet another source of disagreement among the parties involved.
With each side continuing to present its own account, the latest intervention from Mofarm's alleged son has only deepened an already complex and fast-moving public dispute.
