This story has significance for readers across Kenya and beyond.
- TekEasy launched its flagship store at Runda Mall on Saturday, drawing hundreds of shoppers, families and tech enthusiasts

A new technology retail outlet has opened at Runda Mall in Nairobi, positioning itself as a single destination where customers can purchase smartphones, televisions, home appliances and accessories without visiting multiple shops.
TekEasy launched its flagship store on Saturday, August 8, in an event that attracted hundreds of shoppers, content creators and technology enthusiasts, signalling strong demand for consolidated tech retail in the area.
What TekEasy offers shoppers
The store brings together an extensive range of internationally recognised brands, including TECNO, Infinix, Samsung, ITEL, Haier, Syinix, Hisense, TCL, Vitron and Oraimo.

Product options span flagship devices such as the Tecno Camon and Samsung Galaxy series, affordable Infinix and ITEL handsets, premium televisions and Oraimo smart accessories.
In-store retail consultants are available to guide customers through product comparisons, while every purchase is backed by a genuine warranty, after-sales support and competitive pricing.
The store also offers flexible payment options targeting students, young professionals, gamers and families seeking the latest technology without overstretching their budgets.
What did TekEasy GM say?
General Manager Antony Brian said the retail model addresses a longstanding frustration among consumers who have had to visit several outlets to compare prices and verify product authenticity.
"Customers no longer have to move from shop to shop comparing prices and hunting for genuine products," Brian said in a statement sent to TUKO.co.ke.
He added that the store caters to a wide range of needs:
"Whether you are upgrading to a new smartphone, buying your first smart television, shopping for home appliances or simply looking for genuine accessories that will not disappoint you."
What are TekEasy's plans Kenya's tech market?
The Runda Mall location is intended to serve residents across the northern Nairobi corridor, including Ridgeways, Garden Estate, Ruaka, Gigiri, Rosslyn, Muthaiga and communities along Kiambu Road.
Brian framed the launch within a broader national context, noting that Kenya now has over 47 million internet subscriptions and a rapidly digitising population supported by government programmes such as Huduma Kenya and the Ajira Digital initiative.
Citing National Retail Federation research from 2020, in which 93% of surveyed consumers said they were more likely to shop at a specific retailer based on convenience, Brian argued that one-stop retail is precisely what today's market demands.
"Today's consumers are looking for more than products. They want trusted brands, competitive pricing, convenience, and dependable after-sales support; all in one place," he said.
TekEasy has stated that the Runda Mall store is the first in a planned network of outlets across Nairobi and other Kenyan cities as the company works towards becoming the country's preferred technology and home solutions retailer.
How TBC grew
In other news, the Text Book Centre (TBC) transformed from a single store in Nairobi, established in 1964, into a multi-billion retail empire with 15 branches nationwide.
The founders, S.V. Shah and M.J. Rughani, were motivated by a shared mission to provide affordable educational materials in post-independence Kenya.
They created a legacy that continues to shape the country's educational landscape today.
