- Gachagua had pledged to settle Paul's KSh 1.8 million hospital bill and committed to building a mausoleum in honour of the late MP

Paul Ng'eno, the elder brother of the late Emurua Dikirr member of parliament Johana Ng'eno, passed away on Friday, August 21, following a prolonged illness, the family has confirmed.
Paul had been receiving treatment at a hospital in Eldoret after sustaining injuries from a motorbike accident that affected his spinal cord and throat.
He had recently undergone surgery and was reportedly in a stable condition, with plans to discharge him already underway, when his health took a sudden turn for the worse.
"Unfortunately, his condition deteriorated a few hours ago, and he sadly passed away this evening," the family stated.
Gachagua's visit to Ng'eno family hours before Paul's death
Hours before Paul died, former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua visited the Ng'eno family homestead in Mogondo, Narok county, where he met with the family matriarch, Mary Temas, commonly known as Mama Mary.
During the visit, Gachagua committed to clearing Paul's KSh 1.8 million hospital bill and pledged to construct a mausoleum in memory of the late MP Johana Ng'eno.
Gachagua has previously called for an independent investigation into Johana's death, maintaining that the probe should be conducted by Scotland Yard and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
How did Johanna Ng'eno die in chopper crash?
Paul's passing follows the death of his younger brother Johana, who died on February 28 in a helicopter crash in Nandi county.
The Airbus H125 went down at approximately 4:45 pm in Chepkiep Village, Mosop sub-county, under heavy mist and poor visibility. The aircraft struck trees before tumbling and bursting into flames, killing all six people on board.
Paul was the only surviving son of Mary Temas and the sole brother of the late MP. Their father, Ngong Ngeno Ole Kisiara, died years earlier, a figure whose legacy Johana regularly honoured by incorporating his father's name into his public identity.
Paul is survived by his sisters Elizabeth Chumo and Sarah Temas. A third sister, Janeth Chepkosgei, died before Johana, leaving the family to mourn successive losses within a short span of time.
