Argentina midfielder Leandro Paredes has been suspended for 10 international matches for his behaviour in the aftermath of his country's defeat to Spain in the World Cup final, FIFA said on on August 21, 2026. Paredes was also fined $90,000. He was one of several Argentina players given suspensions and fines for the incidents in the final in New Jersey that Argentina lost 1-0 to Spain.
